The Northeast Health District is seeking a Clerk for its Specialty Care Clinic, to greet patients, collect fees for service, answer phones, obtain confidential information from patients, enter information into computer, and file paperwork.  May occasionally prepare purchase orders for routing to District Office. Other duties as assigned.  Requires good customer service and computer skills.

Schedule is Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 8 am to 5 pm, Tuesday 8 am to 7 pm, Friday 8 am to 2 pm. Position is located in Athens.

As Administrative Support within the Specialty Care Clinic at the Georgia Department of Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives o fGeorgian residents in a variety of ways.

Job Responsibilities

  • Completes tasks and assignments associated with administrative support functions (i.e., licensure, personnel,purchasing, records management, inventory, or similar function)
  • Provides clerical support such as incidental typing, filing, ordering supplies, and sorting mail
  • Provides clerical support within assigned functional areas (ie processing/transactions, review of applications,scheduling training, scheduling facilities maintenance, reconciling financial records, assessing/collecting fees for aprogram, generating rep
  • Provides general clerical support to an office to include such tasks as data entry/maintenance, copying/distributingdocuments, and materials, maintaining recordkeeping and filing systems, etc
  • Provides secretarial and administrative support to an upper-level manager
  • Uses independent judgment and initiative to perform administrative, clerical, and secretarial duties in support of anindividual employee or group of employees

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma / GED and Two (2) years of general office or administrative experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Medical experience and bilingual skills preferred.

Annual salary $33,200 plus generous benefits include 13 paid holidays, annual and sick leave, health insurance, and retirement plans.
