The Ryan White Referral Coordinator will provide assistance to clients and medical providers with the coordination of services to external specialty practices as determined by the MD and NPs when medically necessary and appropriate.  Duties include coordinating, scheduling, and tracking appointments; assigning codes and tracking payments; and ensuring that medical information is shared in a confidential manner.

As a Referral Coordinator within the Specialty Care Clinic at the Georgia Department of Public Healthyou will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.

Job Responsibilities

  • Scheduling referral appointments
  • Communicating with clients on dates and times of referral appointments
  • Communicating with referral providers of our internal processes (claims, Medicaid Rates, medical records, and district referral forms)
  • Entering information into CAREWare and electronic medical records
  • Communicating with Specialty Care Clinic medical providers, interdisciplinary team, Case Managers
  • Using reports generated from CAREWare to update referral information
  • Processing referral claim forms and routing to appropriate accounting staff
  • Monitoring upcoming appointments and requesting medical records in a timely manner for review by medical staff
  • Sending necessary records and documents to referral providers
  • Updating database(s) with referral-related information
  • Participating in multi-disciplinary team meetings (morning huddle, post-clinic conference)
  • Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma/GED and three (3) years of job-related experience;
or
One (1) year of experience required at the lower level Admin Assistant 1 (GST050) or position equivalent.

Annual salary $39,500 plus generous benefits including 13 paid holidays, annual and sick leave, health insurance, and retirement plans.
