Receives, stores, and distributes vaccines, medications, and medical supplies according to health department needs; maintains inventory by checking shelves and reordering standard items as required.   Ensures proper handling of perishable supplies.

As a Vaccine Coordinator/ Inventory Specialist within the Specialty Care Clinic at the Georgia Department of Public Healthyou will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.

Job Responsibilities

  • Monitors stock of vaccines, medications, and medical supplies.
  • Orders vaccines, medications, and medical supplies as needed.
  • Receives orders of vaccines, medications, and medical supplies and stores them appropriately.
  • Rotates stock to ensure use of vaccines, medications, and medical supplies prior to expiration. Returns expired stock.
  • Maintains neat and orderly supply areas.
  • Reconciles inventory and generates inventory reports.
  • Monitors temperature and humidity in clinic and vaccine storage areas.
  • Transports vaccines and laboratory specimens.
  • Schedules or performs routine maintenance of medical equipment.
  • Assists with vaccine program quality assurance and accountability, including audits of immunization documentation from schools and childcare facilities and follow up with families of patients who are not up to date on vaccinations by 24 months of age.
  • Maintain documentation required for laboratory (CLIA) compliance.
  • Miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma/GED and one (1) year of job-related experience in inventory, purchasing, or supply chain management; or Six (6) months of experience at the lower level Purchasing Agent Technician (FET039) or equivalent position.

Annual salary $36,000 plus generous benefits include 13 paid holidays, annual and sick leave, health insurance, and retirement plans.
